I probably wouldn't wear this outside ever. But I'm learning a new trick today, which is to wear tape to define line on the outer edge. Now I know how people with smokey eyes do it.

No-clue FOTD
Sometimes I took a look at the mirror and said, "hmmm, smokin'", then took a picture or more to be posted in the blog, noting what I was using so (hopefully) I could replicate that later.
But more often than not, I forgot to take a mental picture and just snapped pictures. When I looked at the results days later I was like "darn it, wish I could remember what I put on and where".
Look at these two pictures. Aren't they super nice?

But just like I said, I absolutely had no idea what I had on.

Recent Beauty Haul
This post is all about the parcels I received back to back in the past 2 weeks. It's been some fantastic weeks, I tell ya, coming home tired after 1.5 - 2 hours car trip, then getting home to a little makeup parcel.
I found www.fashionesedaily.com through a temptalia member and I was quite surprised that it has lots of members from Indonesia. I used to think I was the odd one out and thought that no ordinary woman (without any makeup background) would like makeup so much to the point of spending tons of money of it. Not anymore. There are plenty fellow makeup addicts out there here in Indonesia and they used all sorts of makeup I loved or have heard about.
So, I've been ordering pigment samples, and true, who needs a full jar if you can get a 1/4 jar. Besides, a quarter teaspon is a LOT of product already!
1st haul : tan & viz-a-violet
2nd haul : wild about you & moon's reflection
3rd haul : lark about, lovely lily, bell bottom (my absolute fave shade of blue!), mutiny ( I spilled some into the sink! arrrggghhh. Luckyly it's a dry sink so I was able to pick up some, all along thinking I looked like some addict picking out spilled crack!)
4th haul : sweet sienna (a free sample from MAC. The MA gave me a FULL sample jar!)
clockwise: moon's reflection (original pot), bell bottom, lark about, lovely lily, viz-a-violet, mutiny, tan

See all the spilled mutiny? I feel like snorting the bits back to its jar.

FOTD - Red Lips Challenge
When www.temptalia.com issued a red lip challenge, I couldn't resist because I love red. It's been my signature lips for so long. Besides, with red you just can't go wrong unlike nude colors. Just walk into any cosmetic counter and grab any reds, and it's just a no brainer to decide if that particular red is good or not for your complexion. Now perfect nude lipsticks on the other hand are very hard to find. I swear it's easier to find the Milky Way (the real one not the chocolate) than my perfect nude lipstick.
So here's the look that I tried:
Borjouis shadow blanc diaphane
MAC Knight Divine
MAC Graphblack technakohl
Maybelline Volume Mascara
Estee Lauder Ideal Matte Refinishing Makeup in Henna
MAC MSF Natural in Medium
Amway Red lip liner
MAC Queen's Sin
Here we go!

And ready to work!

In Search of Nude Lipstick
For years I have been joining the search for perfect nude lipstick for my dual-colored lips. Searching high and low for the holy grail of the nude is not easy. Whenever I saw a perfect nude on someone else's lips, I'd immediately either a) buy the lipstick or b) swatch it at the counter. Needless to say, I used to end up purchasing nude lipsticks that I wore only once or four times the most.
3N lipstick from the N-collection is another such futile search. After so many failures in getting my holy grail, I usually turned my nose up at another neutral/nude lipstick. But, after looking at the pictures of women wearing 3N, reading all the raves about 3N, I couldn't help feeling the pull of the 3N magnet. It's calling my name!
And there went my resistance. I purchased 3N.

From the pictures, it's clear that this is not meant to be. My lips looked like ones belonging to the cast of "The Dead" or "Tali Pocong Perawan".
Worst still, it's exactly the slightly paler version of my own lips.
But but...it was a Rp 169,000 lipstick!
I tried to dress it up with Red Romp Lipglass.

This looks kinda pretty. But it's NOT nude.
hrrmmggrrrr...the search continues...
